Product Guru Supplier Focus | Into the world of THE COPPER COLLECTION
At Product Guru we are proud to support a growing community of small independent suppliers.
We list products across all FMCG and gifts categories and we like to share the stories behind them.
Our latest 'Supplier Focus' blog looks at Rakha, at THE COPPER COLLECTION, who told us more about his business in a recent interview.
Tell us a bit about your company and its background.
Formed in 2017, based in Harrow London, I produce unique products in copper and brass. I am a one-band man and had an idea to produce a pure solid copper pen and a brass egg, other products to follow – a fabric made from copper to be used in high end ladies shoes.
How many people work for the business?
Just me at the moment, being a one-band man makes it tricky, but rewarding.
Who does it sell to?
Companies and individuals. When Benjamin Franklin discovered electricity, copper was the material that enabled him to harness its power. Today, copper is the subject of microbiological studies and has been discovered to kill 99.9% of disease-causing bacteria within two hours. Naturally using copper as a medium for a pen would mean you could create greatness everyday.
Is there a specific product you are particularly proud of and why?
The copper pen was difficult to make and we have now perfected the engineering. The Inder Pen is raw, refined and entirely unique. Slim and elegant, with no clips, logos or unnecessary embellishment, Inder is made from a solid copper bar, resulting in a satisfying weight and balance that lends itself to playful ponderings, as well as serious work.
What do you most enjoy about running your business?
Being self employed and designing unique products that no-one else is making.
What are your ambitions for your company?
To make it a global brand and manufacture all our products in the UK. To take the brilliance and elegance of copper and showcase it through our unique design to the world.
What do you enjoy doing during your spare time?
I tend to do a lot of Gardening.
What do you think of the Product Guru platform? What encouraged you to use us?
Excellent platform, allowing me exposure to buyers.
